Got Guts 5K Trail Run, Walk, and Gluten-Free Food Fair!
We had the good fortune of participating in Austin's first annual "Got Guts 5K Trail Run, Walk, and Gluten-Free Food Fair" today (September 9, 2007). And boy did we have an absolutely amazing reception! Surrounded by some of the best wheat-free, gluten-free companies in the business, we were again reminded how much Celiacs and wheat/gluten allergies affect families, large and small.
By the end of the food fair, we were completely out of ALL our chocolate chip cookies. (And we baked a ton!) Participants told us they were coming over to our table because the rumor had it that our cookies were "extremely delicious" and apparently they were also irresistible. We were all the rave! It was very gratifying to have such an outpour of compliments and curious questions.
Outside of receiving and greeting runners upon their 5K return, the best part of the morning was watching the little kids as they approached our table and collected two and three cookies at a time. Their little faces would light up and always finished with a smile.
Many participants, and sponsors alike, offered to help bring us to market, and for that we say a tremendous thank you. That is an awesome compliment. To Christin Egli, the "Got Guts 5K" organizer, we say thank you. Without Christin's amazing organization and generous spirit, we would never have had this opportunity to meet so many great people.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Until then, remember to keep spreading the word.
Thank you so much for your support.
